Purple with golden border

Gadwal is a small town in Telangana state, India, known for its fine pure cotton handlooms. Traditional weaves in cotton, with a lot of zari work on the saree, it elevates the appeal massively.
While the base of the Gadwal saree is cotton, there is a loosely attached silk border and the fabric is traditionally woven in the interlocked-weft technique, called Kupadam or Kuttu. Most of the Gadwal Sarees have a rich border, a different pallu and gold or silver zari brocades. Hand crafted designs on pure gadwal cotton have traditional colours for these sarees as earth shades of brown, grey, and off-white.
